Google to give Sydney demo of Android platform

Android to feature at Mobile Content World.

Google will offer a live demonstration of the free and open source Android mobile platform at the Mobile Content World conference in Sydney this Wednesday.

Developed by the Open Handset Alliance, Android is a complete set of software including an operating system, middleware, a user-friendly interface and applications.

Through its openness, Android is seeking to enable developers to create new and compelling mobile services that will become available to consumers faster than ever before.

Google's UK-based head of strategic partnership development, Nicholas Heller, will open Mobile Content World with the keynote talk "Fostering mobile content innovation through partnerships and alliances", during which Android will be demonstrated.
