The ACT government will re-implement its Oracle Financials system by consolidating nine separate instances into one.
IT services provider ASG Group has been contracted to deliver the project and will provide system implementation and integration services to the government's Shared Services Centre, which provides processing and tactical services to ACT government agencies.
As part of the contract, ASG will manage the consolidation of the nine Oracle financial systems into one instance to deliver a more common business process to the Shared Services Centre.
The contract is for two years and has an initial estimated value of $2 million for delivery by July 2008.
ASG region manager Richard Everett, said this project is similar to what the company is undertaking for the WA government's shared corporate services project to drive productivity and efficiency gains.
"We look forward to continuing our relationship with ACT government and to providing significant value as it works towards an improvement of its back-office systems," Everett said.
