Charity on a mission to reduce software spend
CIO seeks greater visibility into telco spend
Staff Writers  31 August, 2007 16:55

Mission Australia has engaged local telecommunications expense management (TEM) software provider, Quickcomm Pty Ltd, to help reduce its technology costs.

The charity's 350 services across Australia will have access to the TEM software, according to Tony Pollock, CIO, Mission Australia.

Pollock said the software will help the organisation reduce its costs and give it greater visibility into how much it spends on telecommunications. "As one of the largest charities in the country with a large supporter base, we have to work as efficiently and effectively as possible. We have to be answerable for every donor dollar we spend," he said. "With so many services spread across the country, managing our technology costs can be a daunting task, but this software will go a long way in helping us manage our telecoms billing and procurement. "It's given us an easier and more accurate method of reporting. We can now closely monitor for errors and discrepancies in our telecom expenses, which saves us valuable dollars every year." Quickcomm CEO, Mark Evans, said technology is integral to the successful operation of any business and the software will automate a lot of the charity's business processes.
