AMP CIO to report directly to CEO

AMP Limited today announced the promotion of chief information officer Lee Barnett, who will now report directly to AMP CEO Andrew Mohl.

Mohl said the change in reporting line reflects the crucial role that the Information Technology (IT) function plays in supporting and delivering AMP's business objectives.

"Lee has shown passion, drive and innovation in her approach to the IT function, with a strong focus on partnering closely with the business," Mohl said.

Barnett said she was pleased with the recognition of IT's importance to the Group, and said the function would continue its strong alignment with the operating businesses.

Barnett joined AMP in 1996 and held senior IT roles in both Australia and the United Kingdom before being appointed CIO in 2002.

She has responsibility for IT as well a number of other business support areas including The Alliances Group, which manages all of AMP's third party relationships and Workspace which is AMP's facilities management function.

Barnett previously reported directly to the managing director of AMP Financial Services, Craig Dunn.

With the addition of Barnett, Mohl now has seven direct reports. The other direct reports are: chief financial officer Paul Leaming; managing director, AMP Financial Services Craig Dunn; managing director, AMP Capital Investors Stephen Dunne; general counsel David Cohen; general manager strategy & human resources, Peter Hodgett; and general manager public affairs Matthew Percival.
