Gric changes name, updates software suites

Remote access provider Gric Communications changed its name on Wednesday and updated tow product suites.

The company will now operate under the moniker GoRemote Internet Communications, officials said. The new name better reflects the company's current value proposition of enterprise-class secure remote access, according to Rob Fuggetta, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at GoRemote.

Making its first announcement as GoRemote, the company enhanced its Mobile Office and Branch Office suites. Improvements in both suites are aimed at making it easier for workers to connect to the Internet.

New to Mobile Office are the ability to automatically detect service and identify the best access point, automatic updating of the directory, and easier Wi-Fi access.

The new edition of Branch Office, meanwhile, now guarantees end-to-end service levels, including the last mile. This version also includes tighter security through encryption of customer data between branch offices as well as a portal from which administrators can view reporting for application paths through the network.
