MessageLabs to provide spam and virus protection to ABN AMRO in Australia and New Zealand
 08 March, 2005 09:19

MessageLabs, the world’s leading provider of email security and management services, today announced that it has been selected by leading financial solutions provider ABN AMRO, to protect its 800 users in Australia and New Zealand from viruses and spam.

ABN AMRO’s Australasian operation has offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and Wellington, and provides wholesale and investment banking products and services to its clients.

"As email threats continue to increase in both sophistication and volume, issues of security and integrity are a necessity – companies must take a more proactive approach to protecting their data and online identities, as well as find ways to enable future business growth online in a highly secure way,” said Nick Hawkins, managing director of MessageLabs Asia Pacific. "Our managed email security solutions are delivered at the Internet level and provide ABN AMRO with protection outside of its corporate network.”

Financial institutions are increasingly outsourcing their email systems to managed email security service providers as a way of keeping email-borne threats outside their networks, helping them to manage and reduce risk. This enables them to get on with their core day-to-day jobs, rather than spending considerable time and effort tackling these issues.

MessageLabs’ managed email security services free up in-house IT resources, increase employee productivity and enhance the efficiency and operability of email systems by combating the threats that place them at risk. This in turn can raise network utilisation levels through reduced email volumes and less demand on Internet bandwidth.

MessageLabs’ invests in the latest technology and expertise on behalf of its customers to ensure the latest protection is in place at all times, rather than financial institutions having the hassle and expense of doing it themselves.
